It’s hard to keep track of passwords when you’re signed in to a plethora of applications and websites, each of which is important for you to remember. While the human mind may be equipped for many things, its memory tends to slip off quite a lot. During those situations when you’re unable to remember a specific password to log in to your favorite application or website, LogMeOnce comes to your rescue. 

LogMeOnce is software that assures your password security and makes them accessible to you at all times. With a variety of features, it has to offer, it’s also very easy to use. In this article, we’ll go over how you can utilize the various features LogMeOnce has to offer. 

LogMeOnce Browser Extension Menu

 
LogMeOnce Extension Menu is accessible from your browser. It’s available on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer and Safari. You can download the extension through the Chrome Web Store, or respective browser stores. For more information on the downloading process of LogMeOnce on your desktop, refer to our article “How to Install LogMeOnce on other desktop and mobile devices.”

This is the LogMeOnce extension menu which is displayed on the browser address toolbar. If the extension icon has a gray color, this means, you are not logged in. If it has an orange color, it means, you are logged into your LogMeOnce account. You can pin LogMeOnce extension to the browser.

Now let’s discuss the features that make LogMeOnce the best choice for your password managing needs. LogMeOnce provides many features including:

But, how do you put them to use? Here’s how;

Password Manager

The Password manager displays a list of application passwords. You can search for each password in the search bar and display a menu of action related to the selected password.

 

 

 

Emergency Access allows you to share this password with a beneficiary.

If you application allows Two Factor Authentication using TOTP, you can select Scan Two-Factor Code to setup 2FA for the application and LogMeOnce will auto fill 2FA code for the application during the login process.

Check Notifications

Any web and application passwords that are linked with your LogMeOnce account will automatically autofill your passwords when you’re logging into those applications or websites. If LogmeOnce generates a password for you or you share an application with a user, a notification is generated. This notification is displayed in Notification section.  
To check those notifications simply click onto your LogMeOnce extension from your browser > click on the notification icon on the top right corner > Check new notifications, and from there you’ll be able to view your login history with LogMeOnce. This also includes notifications for password share.

 

Generate your new password

In case you need a new password for an application or website you’re signing up for and can’t think of one that’s suitable, no need to rack your brains out. LogMeOnce will be happy to help. All you have to do is click on the extension icon for LogMeOnce, and on the top right corner, beside the notification bell, there is a icon that will generate a password of up to 255 characters length for you when you click on it.  You can adjust the password to your liking with multiple password setting options we have to offer.

Visit Dashboard

To get access to your LogMeOnce dashboard with all your saved applications and website passwords, you don’t require a separate tab. Simply click on the extension menu from where you can view your dashboard.

Recently Used Applications

If you need to revisit an application you logged in to through your LogMeOnce account, or need to do something else with its password like edit, delete, or copy and share it, etc., you can do all of that just by clicking onto your extension menu and choosing the second option “Recently used”. From there you can see all your recent activity with LogMeOnce. To enable other options such as editing, deleting, copying or sharing of password, click on the recently used application you wish to achieve those options with.

Export and Import

If you wish to import passwords to your account or export them elsewhere, you can do that by first clicking onto your extension icon, as always, opening the extension menu, and among many other things, there will be options to import and export parallel to each other. Click on them and choose your desired medium to import and export from.

Secure and Restore Backup

Often we find ourselves in need of data that we have deleted by accident or sometimes intentionally. Our secure password backup system makes sure that you don’t have to go through the trouble of trying to remember passwords you have deleted. You can easily access these passwords through our secure backup vault. All you have to do is create a secure backup with the passwords that you don’t need right now but may need some time in the future. You can create this through Create New Secure Backup, and for access, click on Restore from Secure Backup option from Secure and Restore option in the Extension Menu. 

 

Send Logs to LogMeOnce Tech Support

If you have any queries regarding the LogMeOnce system, you can ask our technical support team directly by sending logs. The process to do this is plain and simple. As usual click onto your extension icon, open your extension menu and you’ll find an option for “Send Logs To Support”, click on that and a dialogue box will appear on your screen.

Type your message and press send and the LogMeOnce support team will get back to you as soon as possible.

About LogMeOnce and Version Information

If you’re curious about the version of LogMeOnce operating on your browser, you can learn about it in the About LogMeOnce section present in the extension menu. It’ll also inform you about whether you have the tools installed for LogMeOnce or not. There are options to acquire help to use LogMeOnce or for reporting an issue you may be facing as well.

Log Out


To Log out from your LogMeOnce account, you have to go to your extension menu and choose Log Out from your available options and you will be logged out of your account.

Add an App

The LogMeOnce browser extension automatically detects when:

  • You log in to a website using a password, or

  • A passkey create action is requested

Once the login or passkey creation is completed, the extension displays a prompt asking if you want to save the new app to LogMeOnce.

Add an App Manually

In some cases, it’s helpful to save an app before completing the login process. You can manually add a password at any time using the extension popup.

  1. Click the (plus) button in the extension popup.

  2. An “Add App” form will appear.

The following information is automatically filled in from the current tab when available:

  • Login URL of the current page

  • Username (if already entered on the page)

  • Password (if already entered on the page)

In many cases, all required details are autofilled for you. Simply review and save.

After saving, the extension will continue by automatically completing the login process on the current page.
